Hey Codrops community! I’m Guillaume Lanier, a Creative & Frontend Developer based in Amsterdam. I specialise in creating immersive digital experiences with expertise in 2D/3D graphics and interactive development.
Featured Work
Anoyo (2023-Present)
Anoyo (あの世 – “the other world” in Japanese) stands as a unique place for exploration and experimentation. It doubles as both a gallery of past work and a space for new ideas.
Tech Stack: All the technologies mentioned below
Personal Notes: Sandboxing and experimenting are essential to all the projects I worked on. Anoyo captures the essence of how I approach creative development.
Sculpting Harmony (2023)
A digital exhibition showcasing the Walt Disney Concert Hall through Frank O. Gehry’s eyes. The project combines architectural visualisation with interactive storytelling.
Tech Stack: Custom in-house front-end framework, Three.js for WebGL
Personal Notes: This project holds a special place as it merges creative coding and design to serve educational and cultural purposes.
Fungui (2023)
An exploration of Raymarching techniques for unique visual and interactive outputs inspired by nature.
Tech Stack: WebGL and Three.js, Custom shader development with GLSL and Lygia
Personal Notes: Exploring new graphics techniques to create engaging visuals while maintaining real-time performance.
Bandito (2018)
An immersive and interactive music video experience created for a highly acclaimed band.
Tech Stack: Vanilla Javascript for frontend, Three.js for 3D graphics, Advanced animation systems with Blender
Personal Notes: Received enthusiasm from both the band’s dedicated fanbase and the web development community.
Sound In Color (2016)
A project that transforms audio into captivating artworks. It showcased innovative ways to represent sound visually.
Tech Stack: Vanilla JS for frontend framework, WebGL and Three.js for graphics, Custom audio analysis algorithm
Personal Notes: A special opportunity to explore my fascination with audio-visual generation in web development.
About
Background
My journey began when my dad gave me a SEGA Mega Drive, sparking my fascination with video games and interactive experiences. Growing up in a small village in France, I spent a lot of time developing my passion for gaming and its relationship with interactive design, art direction, and sound design (without being able to put names on those at the time). This led me to study at Gobelins School of Image in Paris, where, surrounded by passionate people, I was inspired to dive deep into coding and make it a career.
Philosophy
My approach focuses on pushing boundaries while balancing ambition with practicality. Rather than using tools blindly, I believe in understanding their core principles – whether it means diving into mathematical concepts or building custom solutions.
Current Challenges
Combining interactivity, design and technology to serve meaningful purposes in educational and cultural domains, while balancing creative ambition with practical constraints.
Technically Speaking

Final Thoughts
Message to Readers
Rather than always reaching for existing solutions, taking time to understand core principles and occasionally build your own tools can lead to more innovative and inspiring work. The web development ecosystem is constantly evolving, and I reckon that’s what makes our field so exciting – the combination of technical exploration and the talented people you meet along the way.
